Mountain Witness

Mountain Witness

By Raymond Te korako Ruka

Mountains are sacred, and Mountains are Witnesses to the unfolding of the dream:

They stood, each of them on points of high ground,

holding their long, thin Yellow flaxen silk flags high above their heads on long poles.

They were the callers calling the unseen visitors,

welcoming them. Willing them on…

If one raised ones head one could see their line appearing.

Almost, to go on forever down the mountain trail – calling.

Calling, calling, calling calling.

In those times each stood as a representative

of a mother calling the child that was yet to enter

unto her…

Calling that special one home from out of the

Ether.
